customer contact and job recording system for an accounting company
A small accountancy and business services company had previously used a simple
Access database that had been developed by one of the directors.
They recognised that it's capabilities were not keeping place with the growth
of the business and that they had neither the time nor the skills to continue
development on the system in house. A search of standard software products revealed
that there was nothing available that would allow them to work in the way that
they wished.
Quinata developed a multi-user system providing
- Client contact data
- Client contact history
- Details of one off and regular jobs
- Client invoice generation
- Reporting of work performed for clients
- Setting and flagging reminders for client tasks required
The system was developed using Microsoft Access along with a tool to allow
migration of data from the existing system. It was installed on a test basis
and then, following a period of "parallel running" when both old and
new systems were in use, put into full operation in January 2008. The system
continues in use with a number of minor enhancements.
