The client for this system markets a specialised insurance product providing cover for directors who offer personal guarantees for business loans.
The company required a system that would allow them to capture data on customers and their businesses, calculate insurance premiums and generate necessary data to be sent to the underwriting insurance company. If the customer’s data indicates a non-standard risk the system requires the proposal to be approved by a manager before the policy can be issued.
An important part of the insurance product is the requirement to track customers’ reports of certain business events that might result in claims.
To meet the requirements of the FSA, the system records information in a manner which prevents any subsequent change without the maintenance of an audit trail.
The system is set up to allow tasks to be divided between different employees with some roles having limited access to the system. Although the company is currently small this will allow the use of call handlers with limited access as the company grows.
