Senior Database Programmer 

The role of the senior database programmer is:

• To design and implement custom business database systems, based on Quinata's Database System to meet specific business systems needs. This will involve designing database tables and user interfaces with coding in T-SQL, VBA and VB.NET code to implement the required business functions.

• To help provide technical support to existing customer database systems. This will involve assessing error reports, identifying the source of errors and correcting these.

You will need experience of at least two of:

• Developing Windows applications using VB.NET
• Microsoft SQL Server, including writing T-SQL
• Developing Microsoft Access applications using VBA
• Implementing XML interfaces to third party systems.

This is an ideal opportunity for somebody looking for a varied role including design, development of software in a small business environment.

Database Programmer (part time)

The role of the database programmer is:

• To help develop custom business database systems, based on Quinata’s Database System to meet specific business systems needs. This will involve designing Visual Basic code along with database tables, user interface forms, SQL queries to implement the required business functions.

• To help provide technical support to existing customer database systems. This will involve assessing error reports, identifying the source of errors and correcting these.

Although training will be provided you need experience of Visual Basic and Microsoft Access as well a real interest in software development and technology.

This is an ideal opportunity for somebody interested in software development who wants to gain some real experience whilst continuing their education.

The position is for 10 hours per week but there may be scope to work additional hours as agreed. Exact times can be agreed, but should normally be between 9.00am and 6.00pm on weekdays.
